The U.S. Murder of Ayman al-Zawahri

by
While U.S. officials and their acolytes in the mainstream press have described the U.S. national-security establishment’s recent assassination of Ayman al-Zawahri as a great victory for President Biden and the U.S. “global war on terror,” it is important to keep in mind that the assassination was just plain murder on the part of America’s federal killing machine. Federal officials and their mainstream press have justified al-Zawahri’s killing on two grounds: (1) by claiming that al-Zawahri participated in the 9/11 attacks and (2) by claiming that the killing was simply part of their “global war on terror.”  Ayman al-Zawahri. Licensed by Creative Commons. Both justifications, however, are nothing more than rationalizations for a state-sponsored murder on the part of the U.S. national-security establishment. Let’s keep in mind something important: terrorism is not an act of war. It is a federal criminal offense. That includes the 9/11 ...

What’s So Great About Democracy?

by
At the recent Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, President Biden refused to permit Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua to attend because they aren’t democracies. As everyone knows, for the past several decades, the U.S. government has made democracy its shibboleth. It’s as if democracy is something sacred. Yet, what’s so great about democracy? It’s really nothing more than people selecting their rulers by votes rather than rulers selecting themselves. What’s so sacred about voters? U.S. officials promote the notion that voters select the best people to public office, as if they always elect saints. Given that this is the 50th anniversary of the Watergate scandal, why not apply the democracy test to Richard Nixon, a president who was forced to leave office because of his criminal activity? And then there was Lyndon Johnson, the president that Nixon succeeded. Many years after he had died, it was determined that LBJ ...

What We Need is a New Direction for America

by
If John Kennedy were president today, there never would have been a Russian invasion of Ukraine. That’s because of two things: (1) Kennedy’s unique ability to step into the shoes of an adversary in an attempt to resolve a disagreement; and (2) Kennedy’s willingness to stand up against the Pentagon and the CIA and their fierce anti-Russia animus and ferocious anti-communist crusade. As longtime readers of FFF know, for the past several years I have focused much of my attention on the Kennedy administration and the Kennedy assassination. This is best reflected by my new book An Encounter with Evil: The Abraham Zapruder Story,  FFF’s other books relating to the assassination, including The Kennedy Autopsy and The Kennedy Autopsy 2 (both by me) and JFK’s War with the National-Security Establishment: Why Kennedy Was Assassinated (by Douglas P. Horne), and FFF conferences relating to the JFK administration and ...
