Every Friday, Ill be writing to give you a brief update on our June 1-4 conference, Restoring the Republic: Foreign Policy and Civil Liberties, including a mini-bio of two of our featured speakers.
On Monday morning, June 1, Jim Bovard will kick off the conference with the first talk. Jim has been a close personal friend of mine and has been writing for our journal Freedom Daily for some 13 years. What has always struck me about Jim are, one, his unswerving devotion to integrity, and, two, his unceasing courage in speaking the truth about governmental wrongdoing. Jim spoke at the last big conference FFF had, in 1994. Heres the link to Jims full bio.
Ralph Raico, who also spoke at our 1994 conference, will also be speaking during the first morning of the conference. Ralph is one of the finest historians in the country, especially in the areas of classical liberalism, U.S. history, and U.S. foreign policy. If you havent read any of Ralphs essays, I highly recommend taking a look at few of them on our website or that of the Mises Institute. As a prelude to the conference, I particularly recommend Ralphs 6-part series American Foreign Policy. Heres the link to Ralphs full bio.
By the way, you may have heard that one of our Sunday night speakers, Congressman Ron Paul, has just announced the formation of a presidential exploratory committee: www.dfw.com/mld/startelegram/news/state/16438882.htm.
The registration fee for the conference is $495, which includes 10 meals at the Hyatt Regency Reston 4 continental breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 3 dinners, plus all 24 speeches. Youll never see a conference bargain like that!
If you plan on staying at the Hyatt, please do not delay making your hotel reservations after you register for the conference. We have only a limited number of steeply discounted rooms ($144 per night) and they are being offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once that block is filled, registrants will either have to pay the regular room rate (more than $200 per night) or stay elsewhere for a lower rate.
Heres the link to register for the conference, or just telephone us at 703-934-6101.
