The National-Security Branch Rules the Roost

by
If there is anything that confirms that the national-security branch of the federal government rules the roost within the federal governmental structure, it is the Pentagon/CIA torture and indefinite-detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. That facility stands as an ongoing testament to the overarching power of the Pentagon, the CIA, and the NSA within America’s governmental structure and the deference to their authority displayed by the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the federal government. Imagine that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) does to drug-war suspects what the Pentagon and the CIA have done in Cuba with terrorism suspects. The DEA establishes a prison camp in Mexico in which it keeps drug-war defendants in custody for as long as the DEA wants. No trial and no due process. The DEA announces that if it ever does allow trials to be held, they will be by DEA tribunals rather than by juries composed of citizens chosen at random. The ...

Why the JFK Assassination Still Matters

by
Someone might reasonably ask, “What difference does the JFK assassination make to those of us living today? The assassination took place more than 60 years ago. Everyone involved in it is now dead. Why not just forget it and move on?’ Those are reasonable questions, especially when they come from young people. Why should they care about who killed Kennedy? The reason lies in the governmental structure under which all of us have been born and raised — a national-security state form of governmental structure. As I have long maintained, the worst mistake the American people have ever made was to permit the federal government to be converted to a national-security state. Our founding governmental system was a limited-government republic. Its powers were strictly limited by the Constitution and even more expressly restricted by the Bill of Rights. That governing structure worked very well for more than 150 years. After ...

A Great New Book on the JFK Assassination

by
A great new book on the U.S. national-security establishment’s assassination of President John F. Kennedy has recently been published. It is entitled The Final Analysis by David W. Mantik and Jerome R. Corsi. Longtime supporters of The Future of Freedom Foundation might recognize Mantik’s name. That’s because he was one of the speakers at our online 2021 conference entitled “The National Security State and the Kennedy Assassination.” In fact, Mantik cites presentations at that conference in various parts of his new book. Mantik is a radiation oncologist who also has a Ph.D. in physics. He is one of the few people who have been permitted to examine the extant X-rays that were taken of President Kennedy’s head as part of the autopsy that the U.S. military conducted on JFK’s body on the evening of the assassination. As he points out in this new book, Mantik did a careful examination of the X-rays on nine ...
