FFF Speaker Spotlight: Ron Paul and Justin Raimondo

As most everyone knows, Congressman Ron Paul is revolutionizing American politics arena with his run for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination. Although he lags John McCain in delegate count, Paul has succeeded in bringing libertarian ideas into the forefront of political debate and discussion all across America. From the drug war to the welfare state to interventionism abroad, Americans are discussing libertarian principles as a key to the future of our nation. And the Ron Paul Revolution is just beginning, as evidenced by the fact that his new book The Revolution: A Manifesto is in the top 10 best-selling books on both Amazon.com and the New York Times.

There are few people I admire more than Ron Paul. For decades he has been promoting libertarian principles as a congressman from Texas, oftentimes being the only rational voice for fiscal responsibility, a sound currency, and a limited government both in domestic and foreign affairs.

With his many years in Congress and his 2008 presidential race, there is no one who has been more successful in bringing libertarian principles to the forefront of America’s political debate. That’s one of the main reasons that the Future of Freedom Foundation will be awarding Congressman Paul with our first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award for Advancing Liberty when he speaks at our upcoming June 6-8 conference “Restoring the Republic 2008: Foreign Policy and Civil Liberties.”

At last year’s conference, Ron electrified the audience and that was before his presidential campaign had taken off.
