A High-Quality Problem
by
Jacob G. Hornberger,

We’ve got a high-quality problem and we need your help.
Recently our Internet Service Provider, which has hosted our website for many years, gave us 45 days to transfer our website, including our shopping cart, to another ISP. The reason? Our website has gotten so big that our ISP could no longer handle us. Not only was our website content overloading its main system, we were also crowding other customers out of its Web Trends system, which tracks website statistics. And our daily FFF Email Update was locking up their entire system for hours each day.
So over the last several weeks we have been moving our entire Internet operation. We now have a new ISP, which is able to host our entire website and handle our Web Trends statistics. We’ve shifted our FFF Email Update to an entirely independent service, which is much more user-friendly for our subscribers. Our shopping cart went to another company that specializes in that type of operation. While we weren’t looking to make these changes, they have undoubtedly enabled us to better manage our Internet activities.
Our problem is that the new operations, including website redesigns that these changes are necessitating, are substantially increasing the costs of our Internet operations. We’re hoping that you will help us with these “growing pains” with a (tax-deductible) donation to FFF.
Our website traffic continues to increase and our FFF Email Update continues to grow in popularity. Since January 1, our Alexa.com website-traffic rank has increased by more than 5,000. Moreover, Alexa.com continues to alternate us between the No. 1 and No. 2 spots of its ranking of “most popular libertarian institutes.” Our op-ed program is going strong and, in fact, we’re now listing the newspapers publishing our perspectives in the “spreading the word” section of our FFF Email Update. Rush Limbaugh, with 12 million listeners, recently read one of my articles on his show. And I recently had the opportunity to appear on the radio show of long-time CNBC commentator Ron Insana, with 4 million listeners.
Ideas have power and that’s why we’re working overtime to continue moving America in a better and freer direction. It’s just that our success in doing so has produced a high-quality problem that only you can help us solve! Please help us with your tax-deductible donation to FFF. Send it directly to FFF (checks, VISA, or MasterCard) or make it online through the Subscribe and Support section of our website.
Yours for liberty,
Jacob G. Hornberger
