Francisco Marroquín Lectures on Liberty
The University Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala is the premier institution south of the United States that teaches the philosophy of freedom. Founded by libertarian Manuel Ayau, the university is steeped in the classical-liberal philosophy and Austrian economics.
Every student in the university is required to take separate classes on the philosophy of Mises and Hayek before they can graduate. The buildings include the Ludwig von Mises Library and the Friedrich Hayek Auditorium. Over the past 30 years, they have had the "Whos Who" of the libertarian movement lecture there Mises, Hayek, Milton Friedman, Ben Rogge, Leonard Liggio, Peter Bauer, Hans Sennholz, James Buchanan, Leonard Read, Israel Kizner, W.H. Hutt, Percy and Bettina Greaves to name a few.
Jacob Hornberger and Richard Ebeling were honored to receive an invitation to lecture at FMU in September 2001 and March 2002 respectively. Jacobs
article
