Scott McPherson was born in Oklahoma City and raised in Tulsa. After graduation from high school in 1991, he joined the Army and spent three years with the 1st Armored Division at Ayers Kaserne, Germany, as a forward observer. After the service, he married Charlotte, a British citizen, and moved to the United Kingdom. Returning to the United States in 1997, he worked in administrative jobs and became increasingly interested in politics and libertarianism. His commentaries have appeared in Freedom Daily, Ideas on Liberty, LewRockwell.com, CNSNews.com, Antiwar.com, Liberty Magazine, the Washington Times, the New Hampshire Union Leader, and elsewhere.
Scott likes swimming in the ocean, American history, John Irving novels, travel, philosophy, baseball, and movies. He lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with Charlotte and their two children.
